In this exhibition of new wall-based works, Jacob Kassay engages the specific spatial properties of The Kitchen gallery and building, seeking to affect and augment one’s experience of the room by attending to the shifting visual field and a variety of supports. Grounded in Kassay's interest in how reductive formal strategies serve the quality of one’s attention, the installation is also informed by thoughts about silence, resonance, and introspection. Curated by Matthew Lyons.
A performance with percussionists Will Redman and Kevin Shea takes place on Friday, January 25 between 7 and 9pm on both the ground floor and second floor spaces. This event is free and the audience can come and go at any time.
