DNA’s LateNite series is a triannual event that gives a voice to artists working within the mediums of performance art, burlesque and experimental theater. Presented in a late evening, the theater’s wilder-than-average transformation is contemporary cabaret at its finest. This year’s third installment features last season’s RAW Material artist Jaamil Olawale Kosoko.
Tickets: $17 general, $12 DNA members, $14 students/seniors, $12 advance
Curatorial Description: Curation as a direct extension of Jaamil’s artistic practice (and questions) as a poet, visual performance artist, dancer, and actor is essentially at the very core of his vision for creating community through ‘caring’ for the creative work of other artists. Withother.explicit.bodies., he is presenting the work of artists who deal explicitly with themes of eroticism, gender politics and otherness in live performance.
