- KATE GRIFFLER is a dance artist; choreographer, performer, producer, & teacher living in New York City. Griffler holds a BFA from SUNY Purchase : Conservatory of Dance & Certificate in Arts Management. In 2005, She co-founded a-core-dance arts under the direction of Ayako Kurakake (in residence at CAVE Arts Space 2006 to 2007.) International productions with a-core-dance arts include the Kobe Fashion Museum, the Ishikawa Arts Center, and the 2007 Heart Expo Tour with The Foundation of Global Harmony (www.cealo.net.) Ms. Griffler has recently choreographed for short film, “Camilo Tranquilo” by Ryan O’Connor , and one man show “Lion, & The Wasteland of Sound.” Griffler has shown her work at the Rover Soho, Jennifer Muller’s “The Works Studio,” Brooklyn Fashion Festival (NYC), the Akashi Arts Center (Japan), the Gershwin Hotel, the Ailey Citigroup Theater, the Clemente Soto Theater, and TANK. As a performer, Kate has danced for Christina Ilisije, Brooke Broussard, Masumi Kishimoto, Ayako Kurakake, Stacy Grossfield. She is producing director/curator of REVERB Dance 2006-present (www.REVERBdance.org) and is the partner of producing team ANGEL WINGS NYC LLC. Other producing credits include: the Equity reading of new musical, The Awakening of Angel DeLuna, Theater 80 (www.angeldeluna.com), danscores by Ofelia Loret de Mola presents: NYC-MEX Festival de la Ciudad International Tour : El Teatro José Peón Contreras.(2008), O! Balletto directed by Lane Gifford at the New York International Fringe Festival (2008), Antigones directed by LEIMAY at Joyce SoHo (2008) and International Dance Exchange & Performance in collaboration with CAVE (2006).
