Event Description

Based on Body Weather Laboratory, a kinesthetic and movement research founded by dancer/farmer Min Tanaka, this workshop investigates the body as a dynamic, transformative entity – constantly changing like weather – and explores the intersection of bodies and their environments. It challenges the performers to examine the preconceived boundaries of physical expression, and leads them to discover the primal, potent state of the body, devoid of ego.

The workshop focuses on:
rigorous and dynamic rhythm training to strengthen the core
partnered active relaxation through breathing and stretching
image work to activate body’s emotions and memories
exploration of the body in its relation to certain environments
improvisational etudes
