About:
Oscillating between spectrums of camaraderie and antagonism, brotherhood and isolation, Matty Davis and Adrian Galvin continuously shred various barriers within and between themselves, emerging both strikingly but intrepidly alone and tenderly complete. As their relationship moves through the near-exhausted present, there's almost too much energy,
too much sacrifice, too much to bear between two people.
They become the shreds of their own efforts.
Press:
"A gestural language of tenderness and tension slips suddenly into contact-style athleticism. Full out dancing melts into interpersonal relations.
Just when you think you know what it is, it's not."
~ jill sigman/thinkdance
"As a culmination of boomerang's work so far, Shred is a gorgeously embodied journey, full of spit and sadness, muscle and melancholy...You'll leave the performance feeling as though you've witnessed a full life, or a marathon of martyrdom. You'll re-examine your movement in all your relationships: your people, your spaces, your own hankering body."
~ Will Arbery/playwright
