m i c c a is a non-binary Rockaway resident, performer, choreographer, & creator.

They perform tests of endurance in visually stunning environments to encourage gathering intimately with a shared visceral experience.

m i c c a creates community driven site specific installations as a platform of possibility offering experiences invested in choice and sensation

For the past 3 years I have been mostly self producing large scale outdoor performance experiences for Rockaway. I mostly work with challenging outdoor locations and consider nature to be my main collaborator.

Below is a list of my work for the past 3 years, where they have been performed & developed.

rind and flesh skin and peel
developed in Socrates Sculpture Park, a studio in Rockaway, and through a space grant with Flushing Town Hall. Performed with a cast at Socrates Sculpture Park, House of Yes, Rockaway Art Week by The Locker Room, & Edgemere Farm
Performed as a solo at Silver Light Tavern, C'Mon Everybody, TransPecos, & in Hudson NY

Swell
Developed on Jamaica Bay through a grant with Queens Council for the Arts. A performance on a float in the water while the audience watches from the shore.

super secret supper performance art parties
audience takes a sail boat to a sandbar for a dining experience paired with a performance with live music.
self produced and developed onsite

PINE
an installation of 150 discarded Christmas Trees with a live performance for processing grief.
Self produced on the sands of Rockaway Beach.
Also a short film by Team Bubbly

Sun Dae Day Daze
Developed in and for a handball court in Rockaway Beach. A hour long site specific performances offering radical joy where the audience gets to decorate performers in ice cream.
Performed in Rockaway Beach, for Dave's Lesbian Bar, House of Yes, 6x6 platform for Dumbo and more.
