Zack Fuller creates dances out of the detritus of fairy tales, archaic popular entertainment, and childhood memories. In the early 1980’s he was involved with the Washington DC hardcore music scene, and formed the post-punk/metal band Scythian in 1985. In 1987 he participated in a series of workshops led by Ryszard Cieslak, the leading actor of Jerzy Grotowski’s Polish Laboratory Theater, an experience which influenced all his subsequent activities. He has danced all over the world in the work of dancer/farmer Min Tanaka. Zack Fuller’s own dance works have been presented by Movement Research at Judson Church, Leimay/CAVE’s New York Butoh Festival, Plan B in Tokyo, Mobius in Boston, The Dance Hakushu Festival, Movement Research at Judson Church, St. Thomas College in Thrissur India, and elsewhere. His collaborators including cutting edge musicians such as Keiji Haino, Tatsuya Nakatani, Jonathan Wood Vincent, Booker Stardrum, Kat Hernandez, Michael Evans, David Grollman, Jeff Arnal, and Kenta Nagai.
