About: Please tell us about your self. Some of our programs have benefits for art workers - please tell us if you are an artist and mention the most recent work/venue/space/residency where you have worked/developed your practice.
I am a Franco-Mexican-American choreographer and dancer, and the founder of Althea Dance Company. My work explores themes of identity, migration, and intercultural dialogue through a physical and fluid contemporary dance vocabulary.
As an artist, I recently received a Brooklyn Arts Council grant for the 2025/2026 season to support the development of a new interdisciplinary work - "RE•GARD". I also presented Body Memories at La MaMa Theater in New York during the FUSA Dance Festival 2024 and in Paris at the Palais de Tokyo National Museum. In addition, I was in artistic residency at the Fondation des États-Unis in Paris (2018–2023), where I have created and performed several pieces. My practice thrives on international collaboration, integrating literature, visual arts, and emerging technologies into performance. Recent venues include the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, The Place in London, the Teatro Municipal Baltazar Dias in Madeira, and the Dissidanse Festival in Corsica.
