Stefan Maria Marb comes from munich and works since 25 years as a choreographer . 1988 his Solo dancepiece Men of good Fortune got the first prize at the choreographers competition in Hannover. Since then he developped a wide range of stageproductions and performancecycles, like the five pieces cycle HONG 32 and the trilogy Prometheus. Recently he created the trilogy of Golem, of which the second part Golem-part II was developped 2004 in Ljubljana. The piece was nominated for the critics award „povodni moz“, as one of the best dancepieces of the year. One year later he enacted there Golem 3, an international dancespectacle for 20 performers at the castle of ljubljana/ slovenija during the 53rd summerfestival. 2006 Marb created Liquid Earth, his first full evenig´s solo program,which he performed in munich, salzburg and ljubljana. After he choreographed White Body I, a danceperformance at the Kunsthalle whiteBOX, by order of the lange Nacht der Museen in München. 2008 he created Betweeen, a stageproduction in cooperation with Tanja Zgonc
2010 followed Nevada_Body, a danceprojekt in Nevada/ USA in cooperation with the Montello Foundation, New York; after followed a presentation in the exhibition house whiteBOX, munich. Recently he cooperated for several projects together with the fine artist and set designer Henning von Gierke.
In addition Marb, educated as a contemporary dancer, works as a performer since 1986 for national and international compagnies.
23 years ago he started to study Butoh with Ko Murobushi. Since then he deepend his knowledges Kazuo Ohno, Yoshito Ohno, Mitsutaka Ishi, Min Tanaka, Tadashi Endo and Carlotta Ikeda. Since 1992 years she is teaching Butoh at home and abroad.
