n i c k b e n a c e r r a f is a Brooklyn-based visual/spatial artist and an engineer of transient social constructs. His practice intersects installation art, environmental design, and scenic design, dramaturgy and directing. Nick is Co-Artistic Director of The Assembly, a Brooklyn-based performance collective that develops design, text and action simultaneously in service of rigorously-investigated performances. The Assembly’s home/sick (2011, at the Collapsable Hole) was a Critics’ Pick in the New York Times andBackstage magazine, and it prompted the Times to name them “a cutting-edge young theater collective.” Nick works regularly with Waterwell, whose stage-concert GOODBAR premiered at the Public Theater’s Under The Radar Festival 2012. As a theorist, educator and collaborator, Nick engages artistic and social movements. He is an affiliate of Occupy Wall Street.
