Born and raised in Barranquilla, Colombia, began her filming career in 2006. After getting a bachelor degree in Directing and Producing Radio and Television, she traveled around her country’s war zones. Her first feature, Wounds, a film about civilians in the middle of the conflict, was shown in film festivals in South America. The short films The Dead Came For Me and Curfew Song are part of her war filmography.
She also worked on two series for public television and the multiple grant short film winner Make Up for the Blind in 2008. After that Romero and her family found exile in the USA, where she has continued her work in the NYC independent film scene. Her recent work includes Vice-Chair Woman of the Hoboken International Film Festival 2011, Associate producer for the feature films The Great Fight, The Life Zone and Co-Producer of The Grand Theft where she met Boman Modine and the Strangeway family.
