About: Please tell us about your self. Some of our programs have benefits for art workers - please tell us if you are an artist and mention the most recent work/venue/space/residency where you have worked/developed your practice.: I'm a performer and multimedia designer who grew up in Japan and came to the US for my BFA in Graphic Design at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). Growing up between various cultures and languages, the subtleties of communication captivated me, drawing me to explore dance and design. Much like my cultural influences, my movement style is an ever-evolving eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary forms. At a young age I started with jazz and indian folk dance, then found structure in Bharatanatyam and discovered the sensuality of Odissi. Now I'm exploring contemporary forms and mixed media in the hopes of finding my own voice.
