Raised in NYC and Israel, Nadine Bommer brings a unique perspective to contemporary dance reaching over 13 countries with programs spanning the globe. Her work utilizes her signature technique, the Nadine Bommer Method, to build enchanting characters in imaginative stories in performative and educational settings. This two-part technique, inspired by the sea, allows dancers to create a uniquely personal movement language using kinetic energy and internal listening. In Bommer’s choreographic work this fluidity is used to develop a new, but equally expressive, physicality dependant upon the dancer’s belief in their full transformation to a new character.

Throughout her career Bommer has received numerous choreographic awards (1st place, Balletto Di Toscana Festival and 2nd place, Premio Roma Danza International Choreography Competition among others) as well as sustained support from the Israeli Ministry of Science, Culture & Sports since 2007. As a choreographer and educator, she heads Nadine Bommer Dance Academy in Rishon LeZion, Israel (est. 2002) and Nadine Bommer Dance Company (NBDC), dually located in NYC and Israel.

After receiving an invitation to share her work in the US, Bommer established this cross continental structure in 2015, promoting collaboration between cultures and employing Israeli and American artists. Since then NBDC has presented 2 world premieres: SEPIA at the Suzanne Dellal Center in Tel Aviv and SEPIA: the aquarium version in an alternative performance space on the Upper West Side; performed in US festivals at The New Victory Theater and Jacob’s Pillow; and performed in cultural festivals in Poland, Russia and South Korea.
