About: Please tell us about your self. Some of our programs have benefits for art workers - please tell us if you are an artist and mention the most recent work/venue/space/residency where you have worked/developed your practice.: Like many chimerical artists, I believe my work to be a constantly shifting organism; symbiotic to my own physical processes. My work up to this point is autobiographical, biological, and rendered with a particular linear quality; a filament of time, with great and tiny gestures. All drawing. Currently, I find myself drawn to imagery of the chemical and material basis of phenomenon beyond my personal actuality. This fascination is visually influenced by the news, in particular natural disasters and the movement of human masses. Details include exodus, empathy, societal adaptation, body language, and our interactions with the larger system of Earth and Universe. I'm working on compelling sculptural/performance projects to demonstrate catastrophic clean-up/survival techniques and proposing an interactive ark of olive branches on a future urban farm. Intentional performance is new to me; I'm combining my skills in fresh arrangements. On the wall of the studio is a 6x8 ft. sleeping (underwater, dreaming) portrait painting. Ultimately, my direction is elemental, humanistic, and alchemical.
