Cumie is an American singer, dancer and percussionist, with home bases in New York City and Barcelona. Cumie was invited to record voice for a film by Director Alejandro González Iñárritu (Babel, 21 Grams, Amores Perros), and for Armani fashion videos starring Megan Fox and Rafael Nadal.
Born outside Philadelphia and raised in the Pennsylvania mountains, Cumie has done extensive music studies and performances in New York, Florida and Spain. Singing in choirs and theater since childhood, Cumie has since studied or performed with various Masters in the field of music, including Bobby McFerrin, Baird Hersey, Dave Stringer, Akim Funk Buddha and other internationally recognized artists.
Cumie records in several genre, ranging from New Age meditation & ambient music to cutting-edge dance club tracks ("Vocal Pulse Magic" project), but her home is soulful, world-music influenced adult-contemporary. She has collaborated on recordings or performances with such illustrious artists as: producers Mitch Moses & Vince McClean (NYC), world-music icon & British royalty James Lascelles (London), the triple-platinum band The Christians (London), and many more accomplished artists.
She is also a soloist with the 100+ member Barcelona Gospel Choir. Cumie's CDs have repeatedly sold-out at shows. Cumie travels the United States and Europe giving concerts, performing either solo or with her band, and she is currently planning her first world tour.
