About: Please tell us about your self. Some of our programs have benefits for art workers - please tell us if you are an artist and mention the most recent work/venue/space/residency where you have worked/developed your practice.: An ABD PhD candidate in philosophy at Syracuse University. My primary focus is on early modern philosophy, particularly Thomas Hobbes. But I am also very interested in the relationship between an audience and a performer, and have focused on: Hijikata, Artaud, Boal, Brecht, Nijinsky, Blau, Imre Thormann, Stanislavksi, etc. Finally, I am working on several collaborative projects with other artists, in which text and images play off each other. In one project - a visual work that pairs text with paintings - the content and appearance of the text (its claims, ideas, color, size, appearance, etc.) depend on the paintings around it, and vice versa. In a different project - a one-act drama - the characters will talk about a series of paintings and photographs, and the drama's central conflict will arise out of their discussion.
