The sun is setting outside the church of Santo Domingo. From behind the maguey plants children come out carrying a watermelon: The Watermelon Dance. A Quinceañera takes out the heart of a watermelon to feed the audience: the communion. The virgin stains her white dress dragging herself on the ground: The Passion. The Quinceañera-Virgin cuts her dress under the rhythm of a waltz. Milk, honey and glitter cover a woman’s body: The Woman of Gold.
Performed on February 7th, 2014 in Oaxaca, Mexico.
