In Bicornuate, we explore our collaborator’s rare uterine abnormality; the quite literal and poignantly metaphorical bifurcation of her sex, paralleled in her split ethnic and gender identities and fractured sense of self: at once having two hearts and no home. Using lasers and mirror galvanometers driven by cross-synthesis of voice and mathematically pure waveforms the Bears modulate the light-producing-body through sound, the sound-producing-body through light, and the body-producing-organ through metaphor.
