Make Music New York - Claim a Park!

Claim your park for MMNY 2015! 

Always wanted to host a concert in a park for Make Music New York? This is your chance!

86 park permits have been approved for MMNY, and are now listed here!

What does this mean? It means you get to program music in your chosen park on June 21 (with your own ensemble, friends, or other musicians you choose from our website) and in return, you agree to be present in the park for the entire length of the concert. It's free and easy! (There are a few other rules, which you can review on our website.)

Choose your dream park from the full list on our website, and emailparks@makemusicny.org with your choice. We'll confirm that it's still available and help you through the next steps. Parks are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis and must be cleared by MMNY first.

Calling all producers! 

This year for Make Music New York, we are partnering with Found Sound Nation to host Street Studios around the city. 

The Street Studio is a model for collaborative music-making. The premise is simple: put the basic elements of a music studio onto the street, and make it open and accessible to everyone. Passers-by are invited to join in and offer a musical idea, as teams of producers work in real-time to create tracks from these "found" sounds.

We are looking for producers (or teams of producers) to host studios onJune 21! Producers should have a deep knowledge of Ableton Live, and be comfortable capturing & editing live material in a fast-paced environment, while creating an interesting live experience for the audience. (It's important to keep in mind that many participants will not be trained musicians.)
