International Lab for Arts Managers

The four-week intensive Lab offers a unique opportunity to become the part of the international multidisciplinary artistic team and to take part in the practical creative process together with Russian actors at the Russian repertory theatre
 
The Lab for Arts Managers is the part of IUGTE Mentorship Program designed for creative and enthusiastic individuals who are curious and passionate about performing arts, motivated to learn and ambitious to develop their career at international level.
 
The programme will be particularly relevant and valuable to existing arts managers, arts administrators, arts entrepreneurs, producers, arts agents and talent managers, working in various creative industries, seeking further professional development, interested in strengthening their practical knowledge and skills, expanding the scope of professional practice and finding new international network opportunities and collaboration.
 
One of the Lab objectives is to create the encounter of different arts in multicultural and multilingual artistic environment and to encourage participants to go beyond what they already know or are used to apply in their work relying on and inspired by this unique collaboration. The Lab offers a unique intensive arts management practice opportunity collaborating side by side with representatives of various professional backgrounds with different areas of expertise in performing arts - arts managers and arts administrators, actors, directors, dancers, choreographers, film and video makers from different countries.
 
As the result of the four-week Lab collaboration participants will create and demonstrate the final work-in-progress on the stage of the Russian Theatre. Arts managers and arts administrators will participate in the co-ordination of this creative process which will help them to develop their skills through a hands-on approach, to discover new professional ambitions and new impulses for development. 
 

The programme focuses on gaining the practical understanding of the effective performance of arts management functions - planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. Participants will have the opportunity to acquire confidence to plan and negotiate, to take risks and make strategic decisions. They will also develop a variety of relationships with all kind of professionals - technical crew, artistic crew, performers, audiences, boards of management, etc. in order to develop a practical knowledge applied to a specific project in a repertory theatre.
