Event Description

“Welcome to the new dystopia, where everyone is laughing, just not at the same time.”                                                                                   –Daniel Joseph

Every show is a well-baited trap. White Box is pleased to host The Revenge Of The Fantastic Nobodies, the long awaited sequel to The Nobodies’ Live After Birth, presented last year at Andrew Edlin Gallery. The Revenge Of The Fantastic Nobodies will occur in two evenings of performance in a new creative medium, known in the trade as ‘Suspended Judgment’.

The Fantastic Nobodies are a collective of individual artists in social, artistic, and philosophical momentum born in the gutters of Brooklyn in the late 1990′s. From these origins have come a great breadth of energy comprised of: situations, infiltrations, interventions, painting, drawing, sculpture, music poetry, theater, satire and entertainment, not to mention completely uncharacterizable creations purely in the context of life.

Although beginning as idiot exhibitionists, The Nobodies have increasingly been asked to exhibit their creativity in the last years. These have included a one-month continuous picnic, entitled This Ain’t No Picnic, as a live situation at Jack The Pelican gallery in Williamsburg, BK (2006) as well as a one-month situation inside a giant picture frame that housed a stage called, The Living Frame, at Brot und Spiele gallery, Berlin (2008), which was also exhibited at 303 Grand in Williamsburg, BK and the Margulies Warehouse, Miami, FL (2009).

The Nobodies have kept busy touring their trade marked ‘freak out bizarro’ stage shows with Berlin electronic musicians, Modeselektor. In the last year, they have performed three new works at Andrew Edlin Gallery in New York: Live After BirthMy Name Is Mud and The Doors of Deception.

Further details on the collective can be found on the Andrew Edlin Gallery website.
