Event Description
In their new work, SPECTRAL, The Vangeline Theater fuses the post-apocalyptic vision of Butoh (the Japanese dance form that developed after Hiroshima) with the near-cinematic aesthetic of 21st Century science-fiction noir. Since its inception in 2002, the Vangeline Theater has received numerous positive reviews in publications such as the New York Times, LA Times, and LA Weekly. Time Out Chicago recently names the Vangeline Theater “one of the best Dance Visits of 2011.”
