Thanks for the slides of your work. Some of the photos are quite interesting and the artwork that's shown, is that yours as well? It's pretty terrific. Too bad you couldn't include video of a performance. I'd be curious to see that as well.
I understand what you're saying about being a jack-of-all-trades. I'm something like that myself. Training in science, then working in theater, writing plays and poetry, now photography. Sometimes I feel rich in abilities, other times like I'm inadequate too many things at the same time.
Yes, the black background is essential for the photos. It not only ennobles the flowers, making them like formal portraits, but it also is the darkness from which we all come and to which in decay the flowers are returning. It's the shadow.
It's a terrific idea, posting some photos. Here are a few from my current de-composition series, a very small part of which was on show in New York in Sept and October. (These are lower quality versions that are easier to load.)
