Mario Galeano is a visual and a performance artist from Asunción, Paraguay. They instill elements of photography, dance, theater, drag, and costume designing to create visual koans. For 8 years, they were part of Teatro Studio Sur repertoire, where they studied acting and performed numerous plays, and most notably a solo production of “The Tell-Tale Heart.” Recently, Mario has performed at the 2016 SOAK Festival’s block party with “tell me a secret for a kiss,” and in the LEIMAY’s garden series “In Illo Tempore Vignettes,” 2015/2016. Mario danced in Lucy Kerr’s pieces “while you were away,” “The World of Wrestling”, and “I feel the earth move,” performed at The Brooklyn Museum, LEIMAY’s Cave, IDIO gallery, The MATCH (Houston, TX), and Milk+Cereal (Austin, TX). Most recently, Mario acted in the original productions of “Fairy/Tale” and “a man ought to know that,” written and directed by Steve Perkins (Portland, OR). For over 5 years Mario has had the honor to work with the Eileen Fisher Leadership Institute, a program for young adults leading towards self-empowerment, connection with others, and activism in their communities. Art is Mario’s vehicle to explore our human condition, to always be present, to give unconditionally and to enjoy life.
