This workshop is an overview to vo cal functioning applying the principles of the Feldenkrais Method. Rep rogramming the neurological patterns that build our vocal function, wi ll give the opportunity to improve the foundation upon which your voic e is build on and therefore, naturally, because there is a natural pro cess, your voice will re-emerge with new qualities and possibilities. We start working in Awareness Through Movement (ATM) lessons applying the Feldenkrais Method, to get in contact with the feelings/sensation s of your body. A body with no muscle tension and a functional use of the breath allows vibrations to travel with no constrains, facilitatin g the voice to fully emerge. This workshop explores some of the moveme nts and sounds that we used in our childhood to develop our voices, an d we will take advantage of them to expand our vocal abilities. The w orkshop continues with the stimulation of the intuitive, emotional and conceptual aspects of your voice through exercises, using texts, word less sounds and collective voice improvisation. This process gives a t ime for experimentation in order to discover the flexibility and capab ilities of the voice as a sound source. The workshop also helps to dev elop voice's expression and creativity. This is a one day workshop (4 hours total) and it is recommended for all those interested in the he alth, quality, power and expressivity of the voice in singing and spea king (in the areas of performing arts, personal growth, health, and al l people using their voice as a tool in their professions). Handouts will be distributed during the workshop. Instructor Sabrina Lastman ( Uruguay/Israel) is a vocalist, composer and voice/singing educator. Sh e is a Feldenkrais Method Awareness Through Movement (ATM) Authorized Teacher from The Feldenkrais Institute of New York, and a music gradua ted from The Jerusalem Academy of Music & Dance in Israel. Sabrina con centrates her musical work on the creation of interdisciplinary perfor mances combining voice, sound, movement and visuals, and in contempora ry jazz projects. In the USA, she has taught at the Hispanic Organizat ion of Latin Actors (HOLA), IATI Theater, Middlebury College, Portland Arts & Technology School, Movement Research, New York Theatre Worksho p (NYTW), CAVE Arts, Actors Movement Studio, La TEA Theater, Art for C hange, Jewish Community Center in Manhattan, The Brecht Forum, Multicu ltural Music Group, and privately at her own studio.
