 on Church project. Only, in this made-to-measure size, the propositio
 n is inverted and the central question of the work becomes “What wou
 ld have happened if one of the early postmoderns from Judson Church ha
 d gone uptown to perform in the voguing ballroom scene in Harlem.”\n
 In this new work, co-commissioned by MoMA PS1, Harrell engages the for
 malism and minimalism of postmodern dance with the flamboyancy and per
 formativity of voguing. Combining these contrasting styles, he reposit
 ions the influence of jazz, funk, and rhythm-and-blues on improvisatio
 n in early postmodern dance.\n \nPanel discussion with Peter Eleey, T
 rajal Harrell, Jenn Joy, André Lepecki, and Mårten Spångberg on the
