 te-specific camera obscura at Open Source Gallery.\n\nThe Middle Passa
 ge is a performance art series curated by George Del Barrio & Kate Lad
 enheim at Open Source, remade as a focused camera obscura with multipl
 e projections of the world outside the galleryas surface-mapped stages
  — upside-down and backwards.\n\nThe obscura presents inside the gal
 lery what is outside of the gallery; our world, and specifically, a ge
 ntrifying Brooklyn block in a neighborhood that is undergoing modern d
 ay colonization. These are the rippling effects of the middle passage:
  cruelty, entitlement, disregard for communities. The obscura presents
  and subverts these images, and makes it clear that they are subject t
 o our own perspective and manipulation. \nThe obscura also represents
  a meeting of white spaces and black spaces; these are brought togethe
 r with the acknowledgement of the faults of white people and the stren
 gth and resiliency of black/POC bodies.\nPerformances in obscura will
