SUMMARY:Spectral // Vangeline Theater
DESCRIPTION:In their new work, SPECTRAL, The Vangeline Theater fuses
the post-apocalyptic vision of Butoh (the Japanese dance form that dev
eloped after Hiroshima) with the near-cinematic aesthetic of 21st Cent
ury science-fiction noir. Since its inception in 2002, the Vangeline T
heater has received numerous positive reviews in publications such as
the New York Times, LA Times, and LA Weekly. Time Out Chicago recently
names the Vangeline Theater “one of the best Dance Visits of 2011.
