SUMMARY:SOAK 2016 LEIMAY LUDUS: Eurhythmy of Speech and Color with Gio
  Kusanagi
DESCRIPTION:Gio Kusanagi was trained with Eurythmy (developed by Rudol
 f Steiner) by Akira Kasai and Jolanda Frischknecht. Eurythmy is a move
 ment art that attempts to embody the vibrations of various elements, s
 uch as, color, spoken language, music, soul gestures, & planets. Durin
 g the first half, participants will learn the movements that correspon
 d to vowels and consonants in Speech Eurythmy, followed by their short
  presentation in pairs by exercising the learned skills. In the second
  half, participants will learn the Color Eurythmy, followed by a guide
 d meditation to access their core , which will then be translated into
  original color paintings. The workshop will culminate with the partic
 ipant’s active self-expression through the dances of inner colors. Â
  \n \nAbout Gio Kusanagi\nGio Kusanagi is a native of Japan and has s
 tudied Butoh with Moe Yamamoto, Toru Iwashita, Kunisuke Kamiryo, Yoshi
 to Ohno, Yukio Waguri, Seisaku & Yuri, Ko Muroboshi, and Kayo Mikami, 
 and Modern Dance with Bill Evans, Kista Tucker, Don Halquis, Angela De
 nnis, Kristina Isabella, and is a Certified Evans Method Modern Dance 
 Instructor. Gio was the Artist in Residence at Bronx Academy of Arts a
 nd Dance in 2012, was a commissioned choreographer for the Asian Ameri
 can Dance Festival in Manhattan in 2012, a commissioned choreographer 
 at Pittsburgh First Night in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014, a
 nd a commissioned choreographer at Dayton Performance Art Festival in
