DESCRIPTION:\nLEIMAY will be presenting an installation piece and perf
 ormance commissioned by the New York Restoration Project. The nonprofi
 t group, created by Bette Midler in 1995, is collaborating with the B
 rooklyn Academy of Music and the Bronx Museum of the Arts on a new se
 ries, Arts in the Gardens, that will present music, performance art, p
 oetry, dance and film at four gardens in the Bedford-Stuyvesant and Go
 wanus neighborhoods of Brooklyn and three gardens in the Tremont, Melr
 ose and Highbridge neighborhoods of the South Bronx.\n\nThe Brooklyn-b
 ased artists collective LEIMAY: Ximena Garnica and Shige Moriya pres
 ent an installation and a dance performance that bring together c
 ompany dancers, local artists and members of LEIMAY’s community cla
 ss to explore the garden space as a place of constant regeneration,
  rebirth and contemplation. Bodies hang on and lean against walls, f
 oretelling their own absence as they suspend in space and vacillat
 e between life and death, echoing beginnings and endings. The art 
 installation traces the garden stone path with dozens of strings usin
 g tension and suspension to stimulate your personal sense of perceptio
