SUMMARY:LEIMAY Weekly Performance Lab
DESCRIPTION:LEIMAY weekly lab is led by artistic director Ximena Garni
 ca and open to performers with keen physical and sensory ability inter
 ested in working with LEIMAY and being considered for future projects.
  It is a donation based drop-in movement exploration based class. Mani
 pulation of space, time and body through the transformation of embodie
 d imagery are a key element in the work of LEIMAYâ€™s performers.\nLEI
 MAY creates works in both the visual and the performing arts. The work
  ranges from mixed-media, video, and installation art to interdiscipli
 nary and movement-based performances, and training projects. LEIMAY is
  led by Shige Moriya and Ximena Garnica. Their works are presented wor

 widget below or upon arrival.\n\n\nXimena Garnica is a Colombian born 
 interdisciplinary choreographer, director and artist based in New York
 . She received a B.A. in theater arts with a minor in multimedia studi
 es from the City College of New York. In 2006 she graduated from Akira
  Kasaiâ€™s Tenshikan Dance Institute in Tokyo. Ximena is active as a c
 urator and producer. She has been awarded with the 2010 Bessie Schonbe
 rg Individual Choreographers Residency at the Yard and has been recogn
 ized with the prestigious Van Lier Fellowship for young Hispanic direc
 tors in New York. Her work has been presented nationally and internati
 onally in Japan, Spain, France, The Netherlands, Mexico and Colombia. 
 Â Currently she teaches at P.H.T.S, New York University, Tisch School 
 of the Arts, Department of Drama. Other teaching credits included mast
 er classes and lectures at Denison University, Skidmore College, DeSal
 es University, Muhlenberg College and the Academia Superior de Artes d
 e Bogota. Â She lives in Brooklyn and leads ongoing training in dance
