DESCRIPTION:The Porous Body\n\nLEIMAY LUDUS Summer Intensive is envisi
 oned by artistic director Ximena Garnica as a laboratory for developin
 g and sharing an instinctive, conscious and rigorous way to cultivate 
 the performer’s body. It is constantly reinvented in conversation wi
 th internal and external dynamics rather than relying on a singular te
 chnique. LEIMAY LUDUS values training as an act of growing the body th
 rough embracing it voice, soul, intellect and physicality.\n\nThe sixt
 h annual LUDUS Training Summer Intensive is open to dancers, actors, p
 erformers, movers and those interested in investigating the human body
 ’s vast possibilities. Ximena utilizes improvisation as a means of p
 ersonal exploration, thus accessing each student’s individual physic
 al potential so as to develop a unique and individualized movement voc
 abulary.\n\nExercises offer opportunities to explore internal openness
  and energy flow; to distinguish different approaches to generating en
 ergy and impulses; to activate different body qualities; and to facili
 tate an awareness of consciousness through the exploration of the unco
 nscious domain. During the LEIMAY LUDUS Summer Intensive, participants
  will be engaged in practices which cultivate an individual presence a
 nd prepare an alert and neutral body that is ready to perform and to b
