DESCRIPTION:\n\nLEIMAY Ludus Training is envisioned by artistic direct
 or Ximena Garnica as a laboratory for developing and sharing an instin
 ctive, conscious and rigorous way to cultivate the performer’s body.
  It is constantly reinvented in conversation with internal and externa
 l dynamics rather than relying on a singular technique. LEIMAY Ludus v
 alues training as an act of growing the body through embracing it voic
 e, soul, intellect and physicality.  The second annual Ludus Training 
 Summer Intensive is open to dancers, actors, performers, movers and th
 ose interested in investigating the human body’s vast possibilities.
  Ximena utilizes improvisation as a means of personal exploration, thu
 s accessing each student’s individual physical potential so as to de
 velop a unique and individualized movement vocabulary.  Exercises offe
 r opportunities to explore internal openness and energy flow; to disti
 nguish different approaches to generating energy and impulses; to acti
 vate different body qualities; and to facilitate an awareness of consc
 iousness through the exploration of the unconscious domain. During the
  LEIMAY Ludus Summer Intensive participants will be engaged in practic
 es which cultivate an individual presence and prepare an alert and neu
 tral body that is ready to perform and to be moved.  Dates Monday, Jun

 lombian born interdisciplinary choreographer, director and artist base
 d in New York. She received a B.A. in theater arts with a minor in mul
 timedia studies from the City College of New York. In 2006 she graduat
 ed from Akira Kasai’s Tenshikan Dance Institute in Tokyo. Ximena is 
 active as a curator and producer. She has been awarded with the 2010 B
 essie Schonberg Individual Choreographers Residency at the Yard and ha
 s been recognized with the prestigious Van Lier Fellowship for young H
 ispanic directors in New York. Her work has been presented nationally 
 and internationally in Japan, Spain, France, The Netherlands, Mexico a
 nd Colombia. Currently she teaches at P.H.T.S, New York University, Ti
 sch School of the Arts, Department of Drama. Other teaching credits in
 cluded master classes and lectures at Denison University, Skidmore Col
 lege, DeSales University, Muhlenberg College and the Academia Superior
  de Artes de Bogota. She lives in Brooklyn and leads ongoing training
