DESCRIPTION:Amos Eno Gallery is please to present a one night showcase
  of recent work by New York-based performance artists Karen Bernard an
 d Jil Guyon. Karen Bernard will perform the first development stage of
  Suspending and Other Tricks.  In Suspending Bernard continues to wor
 k at redefining choreography for solo dance, and more audaciously, at 
 redefining who dancers are and can be.  Themes that she is exploring:
  what makes good art; finding true drama in the mundane, limitations o
 f aging and mortality. Jil Guyon will present Widow, a 20 minute solo 
 movement-based work that features an iconic, enigmatic woman alone in 
 a room. With an intense interiority, the woman gradually reveals the e
 ver-evolving mystery of her psychological condition through suspensefu
 l stillness, sharp gestures and emotional extremes. The kabuki-like vi
 sual intensity and concentrated force radiating from the nameless woma
 n propels the audience into a meditative journey where thinking, feeli
 ng and free association are permitted. In so doing, Widow bridges the 
 gap between performance and visual art – functioning as a kind of �
 �living choreographic painting.”\nThe performances will last approxi
