  pioneering Japanese artists renowned for their unique, interdisciplin
 ary approaches to sound-based practices: Akio Suzuki, Gozo Yoshimasu, 
 and Otomo Yoshihide. The performances will span a wide array of artist
 ic disciplines including literature, sound art, conceptual performance
 , and improvisation — all converging around a theme of highly person
 alized, experimental approaches to sound perception, production, and p
 resentation. While Gozo Yoshimasu and Akio Suzuki, seminal figures in 
 the fields of Japanese literature and sound art, respectively, have ga
 rnered acclaim throughout Japan and Europe, though their work is large
