  Studies for Frantic Beauty\n\nThis afternoon with LEIMAY revolves ar
 ound the words and concept of Frantic Beauty, which is the subject an
 d name of LEIMAY’s new piece, premiering at BAM in 2017. The afterno
 on begins with a symposium of guests from different fields who discuss
  the many ways of interpreting the words Frantic Beauty. Following, LE
 IMAY will present a performance Study for the piece. The afternoon wil
 l close with an additional Study, a solo choreographed by one of LEIMA
 Y’s Ensemble members, Derek Di Martini. Afterwards, audience member
 s are invited to share their impressions of the work in a round table 
 format.  \nSolo Study - Beat Your Heart Out with Derek DiMartini\nBe
 at Your Heart Out taps into the insatiable body; the frenzied state t
 hat attempts to destroy the line between carnal consumption and self-t
 ranscendence. Passion in aggression; Cracking open the self from the i
 nside out;  Expending beyond limits. This piece was developed with L
 EIMAY.\n\n\n \n\nEncounters with LEIMAY is a four-part series of talk
 s, performances, and training that, seen as a whole, offer a resonant 
 environment that mirrors LEIMAY’s artistic practice. Encounters with
  LEIMAY is conceived by artistic directors Ximena Garnica and Shige Mo
 riya as a chance to see the ensemble at its home, uncovering the layer
 s of thought, practice, and experimentation that compose LEIMAY’s wo
 rk. This series includes the LEIMAY LUDUS Summer Intensive, a lecture 
 demonstration on LEIMAY LUDUS, and symposium and performance studies f
 ocused around LEIMAY’s new piece, Frantic Beauty, premiering at BAM
