  to the question of who we really are?\nEach class will begin with a N
 oguchi gymnastic-based mind-body workout, followed by image exploratio
 ns, breathing energy exercises, and then choreographic structures. The

 tricate. The characters are typically archetypal, referencing fairytal

 ldsÂ is a professional Japanese Butoh Dancer who trained in Tokyo with
  Akira Kasai, one of the co-founders of the Butoh movement. Â She tour
 ed Japan and the United States as a principal dancer in one of Japanâ€
 ™s representative Butoh companies, Dairakudakan. Â In addition to her 
 foundation of dance, she has studied anthropology and energy healing, 
 all which influence her approach to dance as a sculpture of consciousn
 ess. Â Since moving to New York, she has been active in many dance and
  multi-media projects. Â Mariko has collaborated with numerous of musi
 cians and photographers including legendary sound artist Liz Phillips,
  one of the pioneers in creating interactive sound sculptures, at Roul
 ette Brooklyn 2012. Â Currently she teaches Butoh in Tanya Calamoneri'
 s Company SoGoNo and to bring the joy of theatre to children and young
  adults with a wide spectrum of special needs, Mariko teaches Movement
